1872 : The company ST.DUPONT is born, created by Simon Tissot Dupont. It is at the origin of a company manufacturing document holders.

1919 : Simon Tissot-Dupont bequeaths his company to his sons, Lucien and André.

1929: Following the economic crisis of 1929 and after a trip to the United States, Lucien Tissot-Dupont decided to start designing luxury travel cases, notably made of gold or Chinese lacquer.

1939 : Sortie du premier briquet St.Dupont : Un briquet entièrement fabriqué en or, intégré à une mallette.

World War II: Case sales drop sharply, André suggests the idea of designing petrol lighters.

1941 : The company decides to completely orient its production towards the lighter and registers its first patent. The success is immediate and many stars appear with a Dupont lighter: Andy Warhol, Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Kennedy, Pablo Picasso or Audrey Hepburn whose name will be used for a line of lighters.

1952 : Création du premier briquet gaz. Le Briquet ST Dupont Ligne 1, toujours fabriqué à ce jour.

1973 and 1974 : Release of the first Dupont pens.

2004: Agent 007's star lighter. An exclusive collection of ST.Dupont lighters for each James Bond movie.

2011: Collaboration with the couturier Karl Lagerfeld and creation of the official gift of the French Republic offered on the occasion of the union of the heirs of the British Crown.

2013: S.T. Dupont has been honoured to receive the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, a mark of recognition from the French State for its constant efforts to nurture and preserve the rare techniques and know-how of its master craftsmen.

2017 : The brand celebrates its 145th anniversary.
