A new wick for your Zippo lighter
Does the wick on your ZIPPO lighter seem a bit soft or burnt? Does the flame lose its quality? Is your lighter difficult to light and you have to try several times? When you buy a Zippo, the wick inside is white. Over the years, as carbon builds up, it becomes black and loses its effectiveness. So it's time to replace the wick in your Zippo lighter.
The Zippo brand recommends replacing the wick 1-2 times a year to prolong lighter performance.
Our site offers you this Zippo wick at the best price.

Maintaining your Zippo lighter: our explanations
Using a pair of tweezers (ideally tweezers), pull gently until the clean (white) part of the strand appears. To avoid damaging the strand, grab it at the lowest part. Then cut it off flush with scissors or wire cutters.
Change the wick of your Zippo in 5 steps
Replacing the wick of your Zippo is not very difficult. However, there are a few steps to follow, which we will detail below:
- Remove all flammable parts from your lighter: cotton, stone, felt and of course the wick.
- Install the new wick. (Fold it over the top of the Bowl to make it easier to fit the other parts)
- Replace the cotton gradually by braiding the wick between each piece of cotton. These two elements should be in contact as much as possible.
- Reposition the felt on the Bowl and secure it with the spring.
- Cut the wick flush and replace the insert in the case.
Now your Zippo lighter is as good as new!
