CBD: a new hope in the treatment of convulsions?

ANJA BioSciences is an American bio-pharmaceutical company specializing in the development of drugs for central nervous system disorders. Based in San Francisco and founded in 2019, it focuses on certain neurological and psychiatric diseases such as Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease.

In total, no less than $10 million is being invested by the various parties for the clinical development of the drug, which will follow a similar path to Epidiolex, the CBD-based drug approved in 2018 for the treatment of convulsions, Dravet Syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut.

An investigational drug application has been filed, and the first phase of clinical development is due to begin in 2023.
