CBD: Your ally against stress and anxiety

CBD: Your ally against stress and anxiety

CBD (cannabidiol) is a molecule naturally present in the cannabis plant. It has been known for thousands of years for its many properties. Here, we focus on CBD's relaxing and soothing properties.
Since its legalization in France at the end of 2022, many people have turned to CBD to alleviate their stress and anxiety. But what exactly do scientific studies have to say on the subject?

Stress, the scourge of modern life

Stress is undeniably a scourge of today's lifestyles, and France is no exception. Nearly 9 out of 10 French people are affected by stress in the course of their lives, and over 10 million of them are almost permanently stressed. This figure underlines the scale of the problem in our country. This stress generates a variety of everyday problems, such as migraines, irritability, lack of sleep and nervous breakdowns.

In December 2022, the French Conseil d'Etat made CBD legal everywhere in France. From then on, many people saw it as a potential (and natural) solution to their anxiety. Indeed, according to recent studies, many scientists believe that CBD could have beneficial properties in the fight against anxiety. There is evidence that CBD can, in some cases, act positively on chest tightness (the knot in the stomach), stress-related hives, fatigue and irritability. Some studies have also demonstrated its effectiveness on anxiety attacks, sleeping problems and agoraphobia.

But how does CBD act on anxiety?

CBD works on several fronts to help manage stress and anxiety. Firstly, on serotonin. Serotonin is the famous "happy hormone". More precisely, a neurotransmitter crucial to good mood and relaxation. By consuming CBD, you promote the production of both serotonin and dopamine, which can reduce anxiety disorders over the long term.

CBD may also promote neurogenesis (the growth of new nerve cells) in the hippocampus, a brain region involved in emotion regulation. This may help improve resilience to stress and reduce vulnerability to anxiety disorders.

However, it's important to consult a healthcare professional before consuming CBD, especially if you're taking medication.

Oil, flowers, candy... How to use CBD?

If the primary use of CBD in your routine is dedicated exclusively to stress management, then you have a multitude of products to choose from.

Today, CBD exists in almost every form. In oil, capsules, infusions, flowers (the crudest form) or even in confectionery, with CBD candies and lollies! CBD can be consumed in a variety of ways, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.
