5 mistakes you shouldn't make with your Grinder

Tips: Here are 5 mistakes you shouldn't make with a grinder!

If you're here, you've probably got a Grinder in your hands, or you're thinking of buying one. And you're right! This accessory is a must-have in the CBD consumer's toolkit. But be careful! Even if it seems simple to use, there are a few pitfalls to avoid. So, without further ado, let's discover the 5 mistakes you shouldn't make with your Grinder !

Mistake No. 1: Over-crushing

This is the fatal mistake made by many beginners. When you use a Grinder, the aim is to obtain a homogeneous grind that will enable even combustion, whether you're preparing a joint, smoking it in a pipe, a bong or even a vaporizer. But if you grind your weed too much, several problems can arise:

  • Burning too fast: Your grass will burn too fast and the experience will be much less pleasant.
  • Loss of flavor: CBD (or cannabis) is rich in terpenes, the aromatic compounds that give the plant its distinctive flavor. Grinding too hard degrades them, and your herb loses flavor.
  • A risk of clogging the vaporizer: If you're a portable vaporizer user, you run the risk of clogging the grids or filters. As a result, your device will become less efficient or require more regular cleaning.

Mistake #2: Not cleaning it regularly

We've put it at the top of the list because we think it's the most important. When used every day, the Grinder gets dirty. As with any piece of equipment, it needs to be maintained. After all, over time, residues build up, the mechanism seizes up and your precious kief gets lost in the meanders of your clogged grinder. What a waste... So here's a little advice: Take the time to clean it regularly! A little isopropyl alcohol, a small brush and a few minutes of your time...

Mistake #3: Overfilling

Yes, we know... The temptation to put everything in at once to save time is strong, but resist! If you overfill the grinding chamber, not only do you risk damaging the teeth of your grinder, but you won't get a homogeneous grind. So be patient, and grind small quantities at a time.

Error No. 4: Ignoring the kief compartment (the pollen catcher)

Kief is the icing on the cake for weed lovers. These little terpene-rich crystals that come off the weed are ultra-potent and can be reused in many different ways. But before you can reuse them, you have to get them back! If you've got a Grinder with a pollen collector, don't forget to take advantage of it.

These grinder models are equipped with a filter (sieve) designed specifically for this purpose. What's more, most brands incorporate a small scraper in the kief compartment for easy removal!

Error 5: Forcing the mechanism

Is your shredder resisting? Won't turn? DON'T FORCE IT! If you force it, at best you'll damage your teeth, but most of all you'll simply break your grinder. So don't be a muscleman, and take the time to check what's sticking! Usually, it's because the grinder is clogged or a piece of grass is stuck in the screw threads. Whatever the case, keep your fingers on the pulse.

Now you're armed to avoid ruining your grinder. And above all, make the most of every perfect grind that this magical tool can give you. Enjoy your grind!
